My parents won't let me live on campus

Hi Everyone,
I'm 19 years old and I'm going to university this year. I live with my parents in London and the university is also in London. I wanted to live on campus to get the whole uni experience but my parents won't let me. Reason being is because they think I'll get involved in boys and have sex which is stupid because I just want to make friends. My dad doesn't understands and only wants me to move out when I'm married. He doesn't understand that the first year of uni is the best one when it comes to socialising. I don't want to live at home because I know I'll be miserable because the only places I'm allowed to go to right now is college and the library. I haven't been to a party since 2012 because I have to be home by 10 and I plan on going to clubs. I really don't like being here also because I don't have a lot of freedom or breathing space. How can I get through this? Helppp

Unless they are paying for your course / supporting you financially?

You're 19, you're an adult, you're living your own life, with or without your parents consent you must do what makes you happy. If they can't take that, I would say it's their problem.

Try to explain to them that you'll miss on on making friends. But ultimately, they may not understand and you should just move out, you can't let them control you all your life.

Would they be more likely to let you move out if you lived in same sex accommodation?
Are you dependent on their financial support?

You could rebel, or alternatively slowly break free (and save a bit of money) during the university experience. I think moving on from over protective parents is a process rather than an event.

Maybe go to a different university that isn't in London , they can't expect you to commute. This way your parents will still support you financially.
I agree with everyone else they can't stop you etc.. but I understand it is hard , so I just thought to give you another alternative (admittedly no the best one )

You're 19. Do what you want; live your life. Tell your parents this, tell them you are going to live on campus. They might not like at first and it might be difficult for you to do this but you can't be held back like that.
In the long run you will be glad you done it and a time will come when they will accept it.
