Is this amount of words in lab reports normal?

Hi.
I have just finished my first real (by "real" I mean the part of my IA) lab report on biology and... well. It's quite long when I think about it.
Is it normal for a biology lab report to be 5,100 words-long?
Hello!
I haven't written Bio IAs that long personally, but I've seen some of my friends write IAs about that length.
Most of them do pretty well.
Biology Reports (as in scientific research papers) can go way longer than that, but of course that is above IB level.

Check through your report and make sure that everything in your report is relevant to your research question(s) and investigation.
Also check if you can condense any parts of your report.
Lastly, consult your teacher about the depth of discussion and scope required for your IA. (I'm assuming you did go in-depth with your word count)

I think my biology teachers were more than happy to mark in-depth essays so I wouldn't worry too much about the length if I were you, as long as your content is solid(:

All the best!
