Best book to boost my maths GCSE to A*?

I'm currently on an A grade in maths but I really want an A*. The problem is, I haven't been taught most of what I need to know because the rest of my class sucks at maths. Could you guys recommend me any books that focus solely on A/A* content?

well I don't know a specific book, but if you have any maths textbook/revision guide, they [usually?] divide topics and put the grades next to them accordingly so you can just focus on the specific sections
you can also try mymaths if you have access to it - there are some A/A* booster packs

Oh and past papers - there will be a few high level questions so if you don't get one right, find out how to do it and then do similar questions.

*cough* Mathswatch *cough*

*cough* mymaths *cough*

I didn't use textbooks for maths , only a practice book and the mathswatch CD

Practice and more practice is essential for maths in my opinion

Spoiler

http://bland.in/gcse/newpapers_combined.pdf Every single maths A* question for every topic ever known to man. It's edexcel by the way. Not sure what your exam board is :-)

For my maths GCSE (which I got an A* in) I used mathswatch and a lot of past papers, as well as my class textbook.

Honestly, the best way to revise maths isn't even by using a book. You need to practise. Then practise some more. Good luck

The problem is I haven't been taught a lot of what I need to know which is why I was asking for a book which would cover the things I didn't know. Thanks for the encouragement though  .

Oh ok! Have you got a textbook from school? You could go through that and teach yourself it. Or, find your syllabus online, then use various online teachers (there's a whole list of them here) to teach you those topics. Some others:

Maybe you should buy the Collins linear maths gcse revision book. It goes through all the topics and has exercises to work through :-)
