How do you become someone who plays music in a nightclub?

Can you just play other djs music i.e avicii which you have? Do you just gather a playlist and ask a nightclub to allow you to play music for the night?

Is it as simple as that?

Or do you have to have all the equipment. I have a laptop and I love dance music and I am an edm and dance fanatic.

My friends brother's a DJ and he couldn't afford the decks and records to begin with and so went to sessions in studios. After he'd saved up he bought some equipment and apparently that was really expensive - as is keeping his records up to date! Started off and learning the different styles (Mixing, cutting & scratching) took a very long time but he started before 18, so by 18 he could actually go to clubs etc. Be patient

He burnt live mixes onto CDs, spoke to promoters and went to different bars and clubs playing for free most of the time but it's all about the experience eh!

It's important to be persistent make lots of contacts along the way!

Hopefully that gave a little insight! It's what I remember from his conversations about it all

If Paris Hilton could make it as DJ, I imagine just about anyone could. Though I suppose having the connections helps much like every other walk of life.
