Hmmm good point. You'll know for sure when you don't get a certificate for the subject, but before then I'm not quite sure. Can anyone enlighten us?

But there's a catch. If you're disqualified for say AQA English then you're also disqualified for all of your other subjects which are with that particular exam board - not just the one you are found cheating in.

I thought they disqualify you in that subject immediately and then they disqualify the rest with that examboard if it was a bad case?

so shows been plagiarising c/w OP?

Depends on the situation; if they suspect foul play in one of your courseworks that might call in all of it. If further cheating is found it is likely that the exam board would disqualify you from all the exams you sat with them as well as warn the other exam boards.

Check out the JCQ Malpractice on the AQA site: http://www.aqa.org.uk/admin/malpractice.html

Should help people out with understanding the procedures.

To the OP: You wouldn't find out if you were disqualified until Results Day (it could be U on the exam slip -- I'm not sure on this -- they might use other letters/numbers)

Hmm. I looked on that link and I got an F# for ICT GCSE a couple of years ago. Apparently the # means I missed something but I never did. I bet the crappy teacher never sent off my coursework, since I got full marks in one of the (foundation) papers. Not that I'm complaining. I like my F#.

Cataclysm, I doubt it would be a "U." More likely one of these: NO RESULT 'X,' or PENDING ‘Q.’

Good point, a U means you haven't reached a worthy standard, whereas you could submit an A-grade paper and plagiarise your c/w, hence another symbol would be more correct.

I hope my english teacher fills in our S & L cwk stuff in and sends it. He is one old lazy ****; no jokes.

Didn't you sign a declaration sheet? That should have your marks on and is what is sent off.

We did for the written cwk, not for Speaking and listening IIRC.

Reply 10

@Protruding IIRC we did the same, so i wouldnt worry.

To the OP as above, why would they make the extra effort to tell people you wont be getting a grade because you cheated. Although cheating is unfortunately raging out of control, mainly becasue most do not realise what is classed as cheating. If your teacher says to much you have apparantly cheated, if you talk to anyone about your C/W you have cheated, if you ask parents for help in too much detail you have cheated. Also the availability of essays and projects on the internet mean that it is becoming harde to stop plaigarism.

^^woops forgot that, so then yes, we did sign

Hi, um that malpractice sheet thing has worried me a little...
in my English AQA exam i wrote in black gel pen... is this a problem, it said that you are not allowed to on the malpractice form...

Reply 13

It's sort of annoying that you can't find out before results day. You'd think that the board would inform your exam centre (for most of us our school) as soon as they catch you (so you can try and prove your innocence).

Imagine waiting and waiting only to find out that they caught you cheating on some AQA english coursework which disqualified you from AQA exams and then AQA informed all your other boards who also disqualify you (and yes, this does happen) and then your school expels you, stopping you from entering sixth form :P

I got my friends Unit 1 Applied ICT coursework disqualified because she'd copied me and actually photocopied one of my screen shots. Then the third one got disqualified because her Dad done it, the teacher found out overhearing me telling her she would get it disqualified if they found out.

Reply 15

The fact my teacher hated my friend because she understood nothing and sat there talking to me all the lesson yet I still finished my work probably had something to do with the fact she was disqualified, she didn't deserve a mark she done nothing and copied me:indiff:
