I am female and will be 20 by then. Fancy going the first week of September, have thought of asking a friend but I feel like I would rather go alone.

I can get travel accommodation for about £150 and would take £100-£150 spending money ,do you think that will be enough?

Anyway just wondering what people think of Prague and whether travelling alone is wise? Also I will probably stay in a heap hostel - am I likely to meet other people travelling this way? I want to travel alone but I would like to meet some people to go out with and stuff whilst there if possible.

Also I have been looking at this site called travbuddy which is meant to help you socialise with people travelling at the same time as you - has anybody used this/know if it's any food? I ask because the want me to pay $9.99 to be able to contact people but if it's rubbish I on't want to waste my money.

Any other useful tips/pieces of advice would be much appreciated. This would be my first time travelling alone and I am desperate to do it but also a bit nervous at the concept.

I REALLY wouldn't pay money for a website to meet other travellers when you can probably meet them pretty much anywhere - in a hostel, at bars, on tours, anywhere that backpackers go there will be other backpackers who want to meet other backpackers. There will be plenty of people travelling alone. I really don't think you'll have any issues, people also tend to be extra friendly when they know you're travelling alone. And if you'll have more freedom this way.

Do it on the lonesome. I'm going away for a few days in a couple of weeks. Staying in a decent hostel to meet as many people as possible!
