Surgery-no sport :(

I've just had surgery and as a result I'm not allowed to partake in ANY sort of sport (even running) for at least a month. I'm female and 18 if that's relevant. Anyway,I'm just worried about how I'm going to end up looking as a result of this.I'm also finding that because I'm not doing anything at the minute I'm eating and drinking more than I usually would. Can anyone think of tips to help me stay in shape, or preferably actually lose weight now during this time? Any help from anyone would be very much help

don't worry if your really active before, you will be able to get back in shape just follow the doctors orders then after a month start by doing slow exercises then gradually build it up, you will then surely regain what you had before, long as you eat sensibily during that time you will not lose your competitive edge.

I'm just worried about putting on weight during this period of time since usually I'm very active, going from that to nothing is bound to mean I'll pile on weight, which I really don't want and won't do my confidence any favours for starting uni. :frown:

Agree with Carl, as soon as you become more active you'll get into shape.

As for not putting on weight, just eat your normal healthy diet, just cos you're sitting around doesn't mean you can stuff your face with malteasers, although they are nice

I think basically, being off your feet for one month won't do a hell of a lot of damage to your figure, but in terms of your health you need to listen t the doctor and stay away from sport for a month. Any weight you put on (if you put any on!) will drop off once you're back on your feet.

I hope you're feeling better soon

Trust me you won't pile it on if you eat your usual say 3 meals a day and say the odd snack, as Gem says once you start getting active again any weight you do put on will come off.
