Check the mark scheme, it should say what you have to include.
Basically it says how has the media helped spread democracy, so how has things like newspapers, tv adverts/programmes, radio shows etc encouraged democracy around the world.
I'm not doing this topic so I don't know an awful lot on democracy, hopefully you know more than me to respond to the question x

new media helps normal people see what other normal people from other countries are doing, what they are thinking, what their lives are like, how their social, political and economic institutions work, without being filtered through offical or unofficial state propaganda channels like tv and the press.

This helps ideas spread around the world quicker. One of the biggest ideas is democracy.

globalisation is of course the idea that we are all becoming more connected, and hence our expectations of what life should be like and what we should be able to expect from state and society are becoming better aligned.
