I almost thought Oxford or Cambridge.

I think definitely Birmingham. Check out the rankings here:

And look out for "Hospitality etc..." Oxford Brookes isn't even listed.

Which university is better in tourism course studies??

Oxford Brookes or Birmingham??

Definely Birmingham.
Brookes is basically a polytechnic with delusions of grandeur.

Birmingham.

Times Uni Guide book 2007
Birmingham - 2
Oxford Brookes - 31

Work that one out:hmmmm:

Birmingham hands down. It's a red-brick uni IIRC, and Brookes is a former poly.

Hi Knogle,

May I know whats red-brick uni IIRC?? By the way anyone heard of MA in International Event management by University of Brighton??

Heard that Brighton is a place conducive for studying but since it is not near to city area, it can be quite boring...

A red-brick university is one of the old civic universities founded between about 1850 (i.e. after Durham, UCL, lampeter etc, although some definitions can incldue some of these) but before about 1960s-ish (i.e. the "new universities" of the 60s - Lancaster, York, etc).

Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds are the classic examples of redbricks - indeed, they were all the same university originally until it split up in the early part of the 20th century

IIRC is an initialism for "if I remember correctly".

Brighton is pretty much a party town. Loads of bars, clubs, live music etc. Factor a journey of just an hour or so to London, and it's anything but boring.

That said, the uni's supposed to be pretty crap.

I see.... Well, I got another offer from Sheffield Hallam for MA International Conference management. How was this course? I think sept 2006 is a bit rush for me so perhaps I will defer but the problem is most universities do not have class in another month right? I will have to defer to next sept right?

How come Birmingham start course in Feb?? Winter time wow....
