Try to look like you give a toss when she rabbits on about the 'amazing' pair of shoes she's seen in the shop.

Never, ever try to tell her that she doesn't need aforementioned shoes, even though she bought twelve pairs last Thursday.

Comment on her hair in positive tones. Even if she's just crawled out of bed after a heavy night on the booze and she looks like she's had a meeting with a shrubbery.

If you argue, give her chocolate. And even if you are in the right, don't ever try to argue your case because frankly my friend, you haven't got a prayer.
