A Mechanics question

A small smooth sphere A of mass 2kg moves at 4m/s on a smooth horizontal table. it collides directly with a second equal-sized smooth sphere B of mass 3kg with is moving away from A in the same direction at a speed of 1m/s. if the loss of KE due to the collision is 3J find the speeds and the directions of the 2 spheres after the collision.

Ek=12mv2E_k = \frac {1}{2}mv^2...that should help get you started

Welcome to TSR physics.

Just to put you in the picture, on this site you need to tell us more about the difficulty you are having with the question.
What theory have you done on this (what do you already understand), and what is it you don't understand.
How far have you got with this yourself?

help us to help you.
