    Hey guys

I am a student and I get ESA (arouund 4-6 weeks ago) I have automatically been assessed as having a limited capability to work due to receiving DLA. Everyone else who gets ESA has to undergo a reduced payment for 13 weeks.

My question is, do i have to undergo 13 weeks reduced pay or will i get the full amount backpaid to day 1?

You're on the reduced amount whilst they work out which group to put you in - once you're in a group you receive the amount for that group.... if that makes any sense, haha!

You receive the higher rate once you're put into the group - it isn't backdated.

    It's backdated to week 13.
