So my mum is unemployed and receives non-taxable benefits (child tax credit and income support), but also receives Carers Allowance which is a taxable state benefit. I've stated how much she received in 2012-13, but I'm confused about what I'd need to write into the 'Total Gross Taxable Income' box. The only thing she receives that's taxable is Carers, so would her Carers figure need to go under 'Total Gross Taxable Income' box too?

    Hi Br0n94

You only need to enter the amount of Carers Allowance once in the Taxable state benefit box. If she does not receive a Taxable Gross income from wages then leave this box blank.

    Thank you
