This isn't like 'oh I'm just going to post my personal statement here for everyone to see lol' so please don't delete this thread!

I have already applied for university this year, and I have offers and I am in the process of replying to them. I have a friend who is in the year below me, and he wants to read my personal statement to get a better idea of what to write for his. I just want to check if I can actually do this without any negative effects for me in terms of university places and what not. Should I wait to give it to him until September/October of this year instead?

Yes, they may reconsider you application if they notice similarities in your applications although there is a chance his application will be over seen by someone else but would you like to take that chance? . Good Idea if you wait a while before giving it to him , or you can just give him hints.

Don't give him your PS. He doesn't need to be thinking about this for months. Unless he is applying to Oxbridge (October deadline) or for Medicine (ditto) then the application deadline is January NEXT YEAR. What he actually needs to be doing right now is getting his AS grades sorted.

Tell him to read this - and then write his own PS at the appropriate time - http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki...tement_library
