Since TSR constantly seems to fall for blantent troll threads I think we need to create a list of characteristics a troll might have so that people stop being so gullible.

    1) Will be a new user that creates a controversial topic.

    2) Will post a story that has plenty of holes in it (but will still trick people into writing angry responses).

    3) When challenged about being a troll they will pretend they don't know what a troll is, even though 99% of the internet knows what trolling is.

Trolls tend to have red gems against their names... at least, traditionally that was the way to spot them...

Will add a disclaimer at the end of their OP clarifying that although they know it sounds like they're a troll, and although most people will probably think they're a troll, they are in fact not a troll. Pwomise.

Every day they repeat the same deeply unpleasant, deliberately provocative, but not-quite-breaking-the-rules posts.

I think a lot of them don't particularly want a reaction on here, their ultimate fantasy is that impressionable or depressed young people come on here looking for support, help or advice, but instead read their evil posts and go away and kill themselves.

With our increasing tolerance and liberal agenda in mainstream society it's not uncommon to add a disclaimer for fear of offending someone.

Obvious trolls aren't funny, but the ones who have mastered the skill are hilarious. One such legend is traintracks1995.

Unfortunately, it's very difficult to determine whether or not someone is a troll or just genuinely stupid. People like that are not worth arguing with, they're either annoying you for fun, or so far up their own backside they can't actually understand anyone's viewpoint.
