Basically I hate mess & I have my own en-suite at home (I share with my sister).
Is having an en-suite really worth the extra money at uni?
I'm prepared to share, I don't mind tidying, but I'm freaking out at the thought of being put with messy people!
Also, my family is not very rich (I'd say we're average)... It will be a stretch at having to pay & I don't really want my parents to pay cause they pay for basically everything I do now, which is quite a lot).
    Can someone help, pleaseeeee

Well it depends, would you rather have more money for food, cosmetics, clothes, socialising or would you consider it worth it to be on a tighter budget but to have your own bathroom? It's different for each person, what would be more beneficial to you? I would say if you don't mind sharing, then share because then you have less struggles budgeting maybe get a room with a washbasin then it's like sort of half way in between? That would be my suggestion anyway

No. Our bathrooms were never messy and I shared with 14 people. They are definitely not worth the extra money if you don't mind pooing in the same toilet as someone else.

I had a washbasin band A room last year and shared with 12 other people and it wasn't too bad the bathroom wasn't ever really messy and it was cleaned once a week

I've decided to go with en suite this year though because I applied with my friends and would like to have the experience (I've never had an en suite)

Money wise it really depends on what kind of spender you are and if you're getting help by student finance. I don't drink or party so saved much more than students who bought alcohol and partied regularly (though i did spend quite a lot on treats and take-aways) and i didn't need to buy clothes or shoes and if i did my parents paid. I travelled home every 2 weekends but my dad drove me sometimes so didn't spend too much on train tickets either. And when i travelled back it was with a bunch of frozen home cooking and supplies so didn't spend too much on shopping either. I spent on birthdays and days out too but overall i think i was a low spender and I've saved a lot of my student finance that could have paid for an en suite room if i had chosen it.
