The Pill and Pregnancy

Heya,
Im on the pill and had sex on saturday unprotected, and have 7 pills left in my pack. I want to take my weeks break now, as its more convenient. But could this be a risk? as i dont want to become pregnant! But then again i thort the periods were 'fake' as no eggs are released? Im just abit confused and wana no if it would be ok to have a period now or not.
Thanks xx

i think u cant do that coz then u will have missed those 7 days worth of pills. and if u dont wanna get pregnant then i wouldnt wanna risk it. its better to b safe than sorry ull just have to take them. if u dont want ur period later why dont u carry on straight into the next pack with out a break that will work!!

Finish this pack or you'll get a baby.

If it's your third pack without a break, then it's fine.

You only need 21 days of pills in order to be protected.

might as well just take another pack if you don't want the period that week. unless you've been told specifically otherwise it's fine. the only reason for a break is for reassurance. i'm on my 5th pack in a row and i'm still fine (i've been told by 2 GPs this is ok, by both my parents-one of which a GP, read in books about contraceptives AND my friends have been told the same thing)

so you can just carry on without a break and not have a period

when you take back to back you don't have a withdrawl bleed

the pill was invented by a man. being a man he thought that women enjoy having periods, thus we have the withdrawl bleed. you do not, however, really need this bleed, unless you want reassurance

as a warning thought, taking back to back constantly means that you're probably more likely to have spotting

I found that taking two packets back to back gave me AWFUL nausea and headaches! Eurgh.
On topic, if you've already taken 3 packets of pills back to back, you can stop now, have your period, and you'll be fine. But if you did have a break last time, you need these last 7 pills. If you stopped now, theres a huge chance you'd get pregnant.
