Hi guys,

I've been accepted to LSE's MSc Economics and Management as my first choice. However, I'd also like to have an alternative offer in case I do not satisfy the First-class condition.

I have been thinking of applying to

  1. Cranfield's Masters in Management or Masters in Finance and Management
  2. Warwick's MSc Economics
  3. Exeter's MSc Financial Economics

I would like to go into a career in finance or consultancy. Also, international reputation holds a lot of weight in my decision as I do not plan to stay in the UK.

Could anyone give me any advice on this? I am also open to courses at other universities.

Much appreciated. Thanks.

What is your long-term career goal? Which country do you ultimately want to work in? What languages do you speak?

Hi ACS,

Long term goal is to be working in a multinational bank/consultancy e.g. Citibank, AT Kearney.

Preferably I'd like to work in Asia (Shanghai, HK, Singapore), then perhaps in the US, and then eventually Europe. But my goal after graduating would be Shanghai.

I speak fluent English and German, and a little patchy French (but I think I can bring it up to above conversational standard in a little time). I'm also learning Chinese, hoping to achieve a conversational level after my Masters.

Thanks for your reply.

LSE by a long shot.

If you don't get that then do F&M at Cranfield. MSc Economics will not help you get a job in a bank or consultancy.
