Backne (Back Acne)

Haven't seen any1 mentioned this here...

Just wondering if any guys here have acne on their back?

I have a little on my shoulders and upper back...went to the doctor about it, but he said I'll grow out of it, and there's nothing u can do apart from a good diet.

Has any1 treated it successfully?

Some1 once said sleeping topless will cause or make it worse, is this true??

What a load of bull!!!! Seriously, your doctor is talking rubbish, probable reason is your 'backne' isn't that bad. A good diet will help if it is minor, but if it is very bad then roaccutane will effectively treat it for sure. I'm not too sure about antibiotics for backne though......

I had it for like a year, and quite bad too.

I grew out of it though. Actually, I wouldn't go as far as to call it acne in severity, but I had a fair few spots there.

I never got this while I was a teenager, its only started in the last year, and I can't figure out why it would be, it bothers me a bit, but I've not investigated what I might be able to do to get rid of it - if anyone has any tips then I'll be grateful too! My diet isn't great, but its not different from the two years previously so I don't see why it'd be that really

I used to have it, it wasn't very nice, but I did grow out of it. Every now and again I do get a bit spotty but nowhere near what it was like when I was 15/16 ish.

It's cos it's your back - it's hard to treat yourself there, you can't reach to disinfect them properly or squeeze them if they need it. It's annoying.

Yeah, if you search on google about back acne, you'll then see how severe it is.

yea i used to have this bit, i went to my doctor and he gave me a topical antibiotic which cleared it all up

I was given some topical treatment by my Gp, think its called Benzomycin, Ive stopped using it now because my skin seems to have cleared up. So if it continues, go back and see another doctor, they'll be able to give you something.

Clinique is also really good for clearing up acne, including those on your back, try their Antibacterial soap, it works wonders. Has for me anyway!

wow i didn't realise so many ppl had it and gotten rid of it.

thanks guys.

I've had it since i was 15. It's a bastad, was on roaccutane, but it's just turned them into red marks on my skin and has caused scaring. Hopefully, getting a tan will get rid of the bastads.

Oh my Jesus. I see.

I put up with it for years and suddenly I stopped getting them  I just need some bio oil or something for a few scars though :frown:

I reccomend changing the sheets on your bed on a regular basis (like atleast once a week) that should clear them up.

There is no scientific evidence that there is a link between diet and acne, it has got nothing to do with diet. Special brush kind of things can be bought to apply various creams. Also small lifestyle changes can be made such as changing sheets, not wearing a rucksack for a long time and wearing loose shirts. Hope this helps. Also for anyone who has used antibiotics what are the side effects and is it worth it for mild acne?

Yeah I had it, one tip, don't let any shampoo anywhere near your back.

Wash it over the front of your face.

It'll make it better

Something else...when i carry heavy bag i get a rash of 3 or 4 spots directly where the strap has pressed on my shoulder, so if your skin is sensitive, pressure could make a difference...

u could try some kind of wash, like Acneaid or sth.

Antibiotics will definitly help in more severe cases.
