do NSAIDs block cox1, cox2 or both?

i think its both?

cox1 - causes GI problems
cox2 - is beneficial for pain relief by blocking inflammation?

Generally both. There are some specific COX-2 inhibitors such as celecoxib, but there were big problems with cardiac side effects.

Depends on whether they are selective or non-selective. :colone:

But most of the commonly used ones are non-selective - as Becca-Sarah says, there were big problems with some of the COX-2 selective inhibitors a few years ago.
