I think it's quite weird that someone can be absolutely so sure that they want to specialise in that one little area - that's unusual! Most of my medic friends have no real idea what we want to specialise in yet, it's sort of a bit "Well, I might be a GP," or "I quite fancy doing surgery," but nobody is that sure already! Still, I guess if they don't like it they can still be a dentist anyway.
