Tories in a panic as Romanian immigration figures released on day of EU Election

Figures for immigration from BUlgaria and Romanian have to be released on the day of the EU election and Tories already worried (must be high already). Bearing in mind they already gave 144,000 visa's before borders even opened.

Could this help UKIP and Labour in the EU election?

Hmm. It usually takes a day for the information to be analysed by the Press and published, although the internet is changing that. Depends on whether the Press have access to the figures on the 21st or not. If it isn't in the Morning paper a lot of older voters might miss it. The statistics being released on the 22nd is definitely better for the Tories than being released on the 20th when it would have still have time to impact the public's voting intentions.

The Tories are in a panic the article quotes a Tory minister who says 'the timing could not possibly be worse'. Sounds to me like the government already know they are quite high

You're generalising. One Tory minister does not reflect the the views of an entire party.

Unfortunately, UKIP have been helped along. But the reality is that our government needs to take things in control and restrict immigrant workers for the sake of our own job market.
