I'm from Hong Kong, so I only have an impression of what a Chav is from what I've read on the internet.
From the looks of it, Chavs are rude, arrogant and petty, the slime stuck on the bottom of Britain's shoe. But, I couldn't help wondering, is this a perfect picture of Chavs? I haven't seen a single person stand up for them: Do they really deserve unanimous condemnation?
OK, stereotypes do contain a grain of truth. In the case of Chavs, it seems that the stereotype holds more than a few grains. But really - try to let go of all your prejudices here - there are a few Chavs that are decent people... right? They have chosen to join a group standing for all the wrong things, but some could've just been born in the wrong place, made the wrong friends and strongly influenced to make some wrong choices. Amongst the rabble, there could be a few that followed the wrong crowd, but are honestly nice people just underneath.
Or are Chavs such a lowly bunch that no one with the smallest shred of uprightness would imagine joining.
