Hello,

I got accepted by Leeds and Edinburgh for international business and recvd a conditional offer from Warwick for Msc Business. I cannot decide which one to accept. If I could visit the places it would make my decision easier , but I don't live in the UK. Both Edinburgh and Warwick are well ranked, but I hear Leeds is a good uni too with a lovely campus.
Could someone please tell me what the places are like to live in ...also which would be better for my course ?

I really doubt Scotland will vote for independence but it is possible but still remote. Edinburgh is really trying to vamp up its business school but I don't know if it is at the level of schools that specialize in business like Warwick.

Edinburgh was ranked 15th in the world for employability among CEOs by Times and I believe in the 30s in the world by the New York Times, so the university is very employable.

If you don't go to Warwick, you'd be an idiot. That's a target university. I don't even think the other two register as semi-targets.

Edinburgh is considered as good as (or better) than Warwick for pretty much everything that isnt investment banking grad schemes. And even for those you could argue over how much of a target Warwick really is compared to Oxbridge/London.

Outside the UK, Edinburgh would typically be considered better known, and more prestigious.. Warwick (although very good) isnt an espcially well-known university and its presence on ibank target lists is a weird anomaly because it isnt generally regarded as better than places like Edinburgh/Bristol/Kings in any other sector.

For what its worth, Warwick actually is (slightly) stronger than Edinburgh when it comes to econ/business, but the difference is fairly small - certainly smaller than the difference between (eg) Warwick and LSE/LBS/Oxford/Cambridge. Also I am sceptical whether that difference would actually translate into increased employment prospects, especially outside the UK where Edinburgh has a much stronger brand name. I dont know where the OP is from, but if they want to get a job in their home country they should really consider which university is more well-known/prestigious there. It might be Warwick, who knows.

I've visited Warwick and the university campus itself is very lively but the university is located in a field a few miles from Coventry (not the nicest city) so not one if you want city life.

After checking out the career fairs of Edinburgh its definitely a semi target. http://www.ed.ac.uk/schools-departme...fairs/overview

A good number of investment banks are there and all the magic circle firms. They have specialized IT and Scots Law recruitment fairs which I believe are a result of Edinburgh's strong Informatics and Law schools.

Thank you all for your inputs.
I think I'm gonna go with Edinburgh, considering their reputation is almost as good as Warwick plus the fee is slightly lesser.
An official from Warwick is going to visit my city this weekend...hopefully this will help too.

I can't access the link.
That post is eight months old, so the info on the link will have referred to the last academic year and has probably been removed.

Keep your eye on the Edinburgh Uni careers service home page for careers fairs when they're arranged:
