Media Impact on Family-Ideas Help Plz

Hi Guys

Basically I have an essay about medias influence on gender roles within the modern family.

I'm struggling with how to address it. I was thinking to discuss the independence of women since the typical nuclear family in the 50's. Then address joint conjugal responsibilities being more accepted. Not sure how to tie media into that though.

Any thoughts??
