scared!!!

im just plain scared!!! the thing is my bf lives in a different country than me and over there its been predicted that an earthquake is going to hit very soon!! i told him to be carfull a million and one times and im sure he is but i cant help but worry!!! i think theres something wrong, hes never not been online since i've known him hes always there, i had recieved a mail from him today but i got it around 11 and i replyed however i havnt got no answer from him yet! im scared something might have happened, i havnt got his number to ask him and all i can do is wait, i dont know if the earthquake has happened because in his mail he did say he has school work, do you think i might be over reacting?

If you don't mind me asking...which country has this earthquake been forecast in?

I really wouldn't worry, check the news though just in case!
It's not going to help anything by worrying so try not to, I know it might be hard though.

in the philippians
maybe - he's probably okay, but his internet/power etc might have been cut off, so he can't contact you. Or, he might be worrying about his own relatives and friends, and knowing that you're safe, he's trying to contact them first.

He's your borefriend, you haven't got his number and he hasn't replied to your email of a whooooole four hours ago? It means he's seeing several hookers behind your back! No, really.

"Preposterous", perchance? If you were telling the truth, you'd know that the Philippines was due for a volcanic eruption, not an tectonic shift.
Well they have predicted another earthquake could happen over there but not of the size that caused the boxing day tsunami.

My geology teacher told us a while ago I think. I looked on a site but I can't remember what it was. And I've looked on the BBC site and there is no sign of any earthquakes in August. There was one last month, but none recently.

I'll try and find out though. Sympathys during this stressful time.
he's your boyfriend but yet you don't have his number?

Perhaps in a large thread but not one like this :p: Never mind!

So far I can only find this. Look to the right of the page near the bottom and it'll tell you the most recent earthquakes greater than magnitude 5. As you go up the Richter scale the strengh of the earthquake increases by a factor of 30. So a magnitude 6 earthquake is 30 times more powerful than a magnitude 5. The 2004 Boxing day earthquake was magnitude 9.0.

Errrr are you not just a bit paranoid? Anything could have happened, he could have gone out with some friends, or a long lost relative came to visit. When it gets to the week mark without a reply, then I'd worry.

Whereabouts in phillipians is your boyfriend?
If you want more help I suppose you could go to the TSR geological society and ask there.
