Solution properties of polyelectrolytes. Shielding effect HELP!
Could someone explain me the chemistry behind the polyelectrolyte dependence on solution. In my case,NaOH was added to PAA polymer, which implies that the ionic concentration/strength increases. And eventually, the size of polymer increases. I don't understand what happens to electrostatic interactions and shielding effects (ie, don't know how to explain the obtained results).
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
