People who achieved A* in Edexcel A-Level Maths (UMS question)

Hey, I was just wondering if you could tell me the least UMS I need across all AS and A2 modules to get an A* in Maths.

I know you wouldn't get an A* if your UMS was like so:

C1 - 100
C2 - 100
S1 - 100
C3 - 89
C4 - 89
S2 - 100

So what should I be aiming for in each module?

Thanks for your help

90 in C3&4, 80 in the rest.
180 UMS From C3 + C4
480 UMS in total from all 6 units
Although you don't theoretically need it, You should be getting 90+ from C1 and C2 if your goal is a realistic one

Can it not be 100 in C3 and 80 in C4?

To get an A*, you need at least 480/600 UMS and a 90% average between C3 and C4.

You should be aiming for 100% in every exam, but mid 80's to mid 90's means you should have a pretty good chance of getting the grade.

I got 94 for C1, 96 for C2, 100 for C3, 88 for C4, 96 for S1 and 78 for D1 and it's an A*

I did loads of past papers and I asked my teacher for more harder questions
Even though formula book is provided, but I remember all the equations and I guess that saves a lot of time for looking up the formulae when you are doing the exam.

Also, unrelated to Maths, are there weird conditions to get A* in A-Level Edexcel Chemistry? (By weird I mean 90% across C3 and C4 like in Maths) Or is it just 560/600 or whatever for an A*?

To get an A*, you have to
1. Get at least 270/300 in A2 units
2. Get 480/600 for the total score

I find this question so depressing

You should be aiming for 100 in every unit - what would you aim for anything less

I am not saying "achieve 100 in every unit"

I am saying "aim for 100 in every unit"

An A* students should certainly be doing that - perhaps there is a unit (for me it would be a stats unit) that there is an anxiety about

But, imo, no A* students should be asking - what is the least I can do

I'm no A* student atm! But I can aim for it now  C3 + C4 are my weakest so now I know I should concentrate on them more. I don't need to spend as much time revising the others if I know, that's why
