My y13 prom dress code is cocktail dresses rather than full length gowns. I've got tonnes of casual dresses but I'm not very good at dressing for formal occasions short of weddings. Is this dress and clutch appropriate, do you think? It's quite granny but I suppose that's just my style sometimes, and I don't want to buy anything new.

Change the shoes, they are too casual x

As you can tell I love strappy heels

Me  I've got a Year 13 prom coming up, it's more casual so I don't want anything too 'prommy'! Preferably short and something I could wear again. I've looked on ASOS, Boohoo etc and I can't find anything I like!

Lipsy dresses are pretty fabulous, but if you look in the Next outlet stores you get a much better choice than their online store  I got mine from Lipsy, my prom is in a few weeks.

This is my prom dress, I'm scared it makes me look really over the top so I love it, and hate it at the same time. Anyone have any ideas on how to dress it down with my hair or makeup? I know its abit big for me but I've had it taken in now (another online custom fit failure)
All your dresses are beautiful!

omg that looks so so nice on you!
Don't know what to do with my hair for my y11 prom tbh

Bloody hell that is gorgeous, I love it! Definitely do you hair up and just neutral make up I think. My leavers ball for year 13 is the 27th and I didn't want a prommy dress because I did that all in year 11. Also wanted to keep the cost down, mine was only 20 quid! I hope I can wear it again too  struggling with what to do with my hair though...

You look amazing!

I'm the same, I'm not really into the prommy sequin stuff- bit worried I'll look a bit business though :/

C'est la vie I guess

Bumping because my Summer Ball is less than a month away and I need a dress  Any ideas?? Ideally under fifty pounds.
Some help, ladies, please?

My original choice was this:

But I recently found out the school's given the prom a 'casino' theme (literally Goodfellas) so I found this beautiful red dress.

I have a dark brown bob cut, I'm quite tall, pale. Thoughts?

I like both but I think the original would look lovelyyyy if that's what you preferred! :h:
I'd love to find a dress that colour tbh.
I left school before my prom due to being in and out the hospital so I missed my prom 8 years ago :frown: but my mum's wedding was basically my prom and here's the dress I wore. I got it on Amazon brand new from The UK for £40 and it was an actual prom dress and not a bridesmaid's dress. You wouldn't believe from seeing it that it was only £40 and it weighs a tonne so its not all flimsy. Was definitely the best buy I've had online

Both dresses are absolutely gorgeous and I think you could rock either of them but I personally think the first one is the nicest :h:

What are your school preferences, do you have a certain theme? My school, for example, doesn't go well with long dresses so I decided that dressy skirts with some chiffon blouse would be the best choice. And it definitely was! So if you need more help, just tell more about your prom traditions!
