History Paper 2!!!

In topic 1, if a question asks

2. Compare and contrast the causes of two wars (excluding the First World War),

can I use two civil wars (chinese and spanish) to answer the question?

I was fairly certain that I am allowed to, but the mentioning of the WWI in the question made me wonder if the question assumes that by war, we're only supposed to talk about real 'wars', fought between two or more countries?

This became more confusing as the next question specifically mentioned 'civil war' in the question:

3. Analyse the reasons for the outcome of one civil war. How did the outcome affect the country in which the war was fought?

Usually in a paper, there is one question about 'wars' and another question specifically for 'civil wars', so am I not allowed to use civil wars to answer a question about 'wars'? Or am I put in a disadvantage if I do so???
