Anyone study it/know someone who's studying it? I'm tempted to apply for it through UCAS extra/clearing. Is it as highly regarded as a degree in a more traditional science subject like chemistry? Should I perhaps take geology or geophysics instead?

I don't know how 'regarded' it is, but the question is, do you really want to study it for four years? It says on your profile that you applied for economics; that's rather different, isn't it?

^^ What edders said. You can't realisitically do a subject for 3 or 4 years without having some sort of interest in it.

Also, Durham and Nottingham (which you seem to have offers for) aren't exactly the worst of places to be going to do economics! If you really intend on doing economics and are merely picking Imperial because you appear to have been rejected from your top choice unis and want to go to a top 5 uni, forget it. Econ and environmental geoscience have probably nothing in common. Stick to Economics at Durham or Notts and then do a masters at Warwick/Cambridge/LSE etc to push up your cred if you want.

Yep, the three years will fly by, you'll come out with a 1st and you'll only be 21; plenty of time for postgrad elsewhere.

Oops, better delete that from my profile. I got an offer from my 2nd choice uni (Bath) for economics, but a while ago I decided I'd rather be doing something involving science, earth science in particular. But instead of reapplying next year for natsci/earthsci somewhere, I noticed Imperial on UCAS extra and thought it might be a better idea than taking a gap year. It's just that I wanted to hear a reccommendation or something before I decided.
