Since it's a franchise why is there not 1 branch that sells a halal Big Mac ?

it highly offends me that they try to be all encompassing , bringing in a healthy option

why no halal option ???

I wasn't expecting every single one to

Just a single one to

Considering it's franchised, I'm sure fellow Muslims would like something other then the fillet o fish

Even on a trail basis

In Muslim countries it is.

Here, it would be impossible to supply enough halal meat to make it happen.

Subway seem to think otherwise :dontknow:

OP: I'm not sure, maybe there's enough of a suitable range for Muslims that they're not bothered. Perhaps one day McDonalds will offer Halal/Kosher foods.

Hopefully not, mind.
Why hopefully not?

I'm not saying they should do subway style - all halal

But you'd oppose even a concurrent option?

McDonalds is a massive company - I'm pretty sure it's the biggest fast food chain on the planet - with an immense marketing system behind it. If it thought it would make financial sense to do that, then they would. They're not going to miss out on a trick to make money, are they? Clearly, they've decided it's not worth it. And it doesn't take a genius to work that one out.

Would it?

The multitude of independent chicken and chip shops would suggest otherwise

The infrastructure is there, just not utilised

Would further legitimise mass animal cruelty.

inb4 if you really cared about animals you wouldn't eat them in the first place

I oppose all religious exemptions to animal cruelty laws (and most laws).

Based on this thread I wonder if it is actually not a cultural decision ?

The introduction of "that there immigrant backwards meat" would cause an exodus of the others ?

I do find it comical that people scream "if you want halal go to your backwards country"

Surely you should practice tolerance ?

I defend my animal cruelty stance , I've worked in abattoirs - both halal and not

There is no easy / painless way of killing an animal. Even stunning isn't as pain free as you would think

Because not everyone in Britain is Muslim. Muslims make up less than 5% of the population. I think that the Big Guys at McDonald's are far more concerned with catering to the remaining 95%.

EDIT: According to the CIA World Factbook

Nope. I feel pretty confident in saying it's purely economics. If they thought it would be worth it, they'd do it, they're not going to miss out on a trick to make money.

Do you agree with electrocuting chickens in a huge bath of water ?

Because that's how they are killed

Or necks sliced in a conveyor belt

Poultry is killed the same way halal or not

I suggest you do more research before you brand it "barbaric" and see the policies adopted by the west

I reiterate - if you truly cared, you would not eat MASS reared meat

Not just the methods of death but how they are kept, no sunlight, room to move etc

Rather hypocritical to fixate on one aspect and use that as grounds for some moral objection but ignore others ?
