Robbie Williams "Rudebox" Contender For Worst Song Ever!

Has anyone heard this absoultely dreadful new record from Robbie Williams

whoever told him that attempting to sound like Justin Timberlake in his Stoke accent needs shooting! Thats before we get to the lyrics, which are awful innuendos "up your jacksey, split ur keks" "dance like youve won the special olympics" "TK Maxx looks best, Jackson looks messed"

Theres many more laughable lyrics...but too many to list.

it really is one of the worst records ive ever heard (and thats coming from someone who is normally positive about Robbie Williams' music)

his career really should have ended with his Greatest Hits, since then hes tried to "diversify" ie get away from the big choruses that made him famous

heres the youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klBtyJznQ-Y

on this evidence he'll be on "after they were famous before they know it"

I don't mind Robbie's music, but this? Just.. no. It's terrible. In every way possible.

Go back to the soppy love songs, Rob. :]

Terrible, but i'm sure many people will love it just because it's him

it's so unbelievably bad i thought it was a joke when they played it on the radio. I don't really buy the whole tuneless thing that's apparently 'in' at the moment in rubbish pop.. nelly furtado, justin timberlake et al. But this.. takes it to a new low..
It's weird--someone of his stature should be confidently being themselves, and playing to their strengths, not trying to sound like some RnB ****

It actually does. The lyrics, the lack of tune, its all wrong. Im not a huge fan of Robbie but i could appreciate Angels and Let Me Entertain You. Where did it go wrong? ...well i suppose it was when he stopped writing his songs with Guy Chambers.

i thought so when I first heard it, but after listening to it a few times it has grown on me and I quite like it.

actually, after starting this thread earlier, and having been subjected to the song a few times more on the radio...

i now cant get the 'chrous' the sort of electronic voice bit out of my head

still think its awful! but its going to be one of those irritatingly awful songs that you end up humming when bored:frown:
Ohhh my God it's awful! What is that "chorus" about??
Everyone seems to be missing the point.

Before i start this i will admit i am a big robbie fan but will equally admit he has done some shockers in his time (what the **** was something beautiful about?)

First time this was yuck but 2nd i started to like it.... as a person i've foudn robbie in recent years quite interesting. He has a very active imagination by all accounts which has probably led him to this. It's trying your hand at everything and not sticking to one thing? and isn't this what has alwys happened on every labum?

Take his first.. angels is the love song Let me entertain you the party song, old before i die the rock song and a bit of shamless pop as well

Give the guy a break... if this was some unknown it would be said it was mighty but who likes a star in this country?

I've only heard the song a few times so it hasn't grown on me yet and I doubt it ever will. I'd hated his music for years and years and then suddenly he was doing something interesting for this latest album. I'm disappointed now.
you arent even quoting right.

tk maxx costs less.

Its so not the worse song ever. Its not great but i guess people expect more from him.

Its hilariously crap. I laughed so much when it came on Radio 1 at work (not allowed to listen to my music when the other warehouse guys are in ^o)) I had to serve a customer at the door while laughing about how bad it was.

ok
I haven't heard it. But it can't be worse than Orson's 'Happiness'. That's horrendously bad.

You're wrong, if it was some unknown it probably wouldn't have been released and would never be played on the radio

Agreed.
tbh when RW usually releases stuff even if you don't like him it usually sticks in your head and is quite memorable i don't recall anything from his latest album, but it was like the second biggest selling album of 2005,....to sum up his music has gone crap but people are still buying that crap
