Hi,

Without going into detail, I'm a first year student at Kingston University studying Mathematics.

There's a high chance that I may fail three modules, four at worst.

I'm confused as to what may happen in the summer. Will I be asked to retake the modules I failed in a summer re-sit? Or is the norm that I repeat the year?

Or, will I be withdrawn from the whole course and essentially kicked out?

My attendance is half way decent compared to others and me being in this position is mainly due to lack of trying if anything.

Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks

What does "half way decent compared to others" mean? If that means 50% attendance looking reasonable, because others are on 10%, then it's still not looking that good

I reckon they'll just tell you to resit everything if you want to continue. If you fail any of them in summer then it's usually a kick out or a retake the year option - the latter being at their discretion more so. Check your course guidelines/regulations as to the advice though.

I can't see why they wouldn't let you attempt the resits - although it wouldn't surprise me if your tutor says something along the lines of 'we're concerned that you won't cope at level 2 based on this'.
