Fitness Plans Help

Well, I'm not one of these uber gym people who use a load of mumbo jumbo to describe various exercises. The only exercises I actually know how to do are press-ups and situps, so bare with me.

I want to do three things, and I want your advice on how I should go about it. (I'm male.)

1) I want to lose some weight of my stomach, and turn it either flat or into a 6-pact. At the minute it looks much like a pot-belly, thanks to all those beers.

2) I want to get stronger forearms and biceps, aswell as a more manly-looking chest.

3) I want to gain stamina, and more strength in my legs.

If any of you guys could suggest a really simple diet to follow without using any compliacted terms, and a workout, I would really appreciate it. I just can't seem to find any dam straight forward plan to follow and it's frustrating me.

I'm tall (6"1), and quite heavy (14 stone I think). I have skinny wrists (hence why I want stronger wrists  ). I have a bench press, which I dont use.

I welcome any advice at all.

you cant spot reduce fat so youll have to get rid of all over.
i would say eat 5 or 6 small high protein meals a day, drink less beer and do about 45 minutes of cardio at least three times a week. thatl help 1 and 3 but i dont know about 2 i dont do weights.

I honestly don't know what you mean by 6 protein meals? Could you suggest an example...

Also, cardio? Could you suggest an exercise? Running/jogging maybe?

Thanks

You'll find that everyone will offer different advice - some of it is unneccessary. Do some research yourself into diet/nutrition and different types of workouts and the effect they have on you. The internet is your friend matey and plus there's plenty of magazines out there too
I've been going the gym now for nearly 3years, and it's only been the last 7-8months or so that I've started trying to educate myself and it's made the world of difference, so I'd strongly recommend doing the same.

And lastly, remember any exercise is better than no exercise

more meat less crap like potatoe. look on the packets and check protein levels.

any excercise as long as it keeps your heart rate up.
run: run so many hundred metres then walk, run again, then walk (all in one session)
cycle,
row,
swim,
skip
etc.

Protein > found mainly in meats, nuts, among other things.
Lean cuts of chicken breast, turkey, tuna will do this for you.

A handful of nuts also have a high protein content.

Cardio, 3 times a week, maybe mon/thurs/sat or something to that effect. Say 1 day running, go for a jog for 15mins. After 15mins stop, and run home trying to beat your time.

Do you participate in any sports too by the way?

Rowing machines (if you have access) are also very good for you.

As I mentioned before, try and do some factual based research for yourself - it'll do you the word of good and make you feel healthier and more food-aware than before

Former Rugby player. Gave it up because I kept getting nasty ankle injuries.

If I have skinny wrists is it bad for my to do press-ups?

What's the best aerobic (fat-burning) exercise? I'd be interested to find out...

would depend on the individual. anything that uses all limbs would be best.

Your heart rate is just as important as the exercise itself. For each individual theres the "Fat burning zone" and "cardio training zone", this all depends on gender and age though.

if you find full pressups hard at first build it up
start on your kness moving them further and further away from your hands until you can do real ones

jogging is the best way to lose weight, although swimming rowing cycling are also good, just not as good.

drink lots of water, little alcohol, cut out coffee, tea and other ****

Surely elaboration of an erroneous point would be courteous?

Bis, seriously...these threads are getting pathetic now. Like a hand with the sticky? H&R is really in need of it.
