OCR AS Chemistry Practical - Percentage Error

I did a practical recently on enthalpy change and there was a question on percentage error. The error was 0.5+ on the thermometer. We had to measure the initial and final temperature so do you do 0.5*2 because you measure it twice? And what do you divide it by too?

You multiply the +/- 0.5 by two (yes it is because you measure it twice), and then divide it all by the difference in temperature (final-initial temp.) The bigger the temperature change, the lower the percentage error.
Multiply by 100 to get a percentage.
