:ditto:

That's probably the best way to do it. Isn't there a drop-down box with subjects though? If so, isn't it listed on that? Also check whether under qualifications you can select/enter "GCSE (Short Course)"

PS: I didn't use UCAS Apply when I was applying and I'm not 100% sure about how it works - so my suggestion may not be possible

You should declare them, but I didn't do any so I'm not sure how. However, if you ask your teacher or read the UCAS guide they should tell you :
I did a GCSE Short Course in RS and declared it because you have to declare all your qualifications. If I remember rightly, there's an option to select 'GCSE Short Course' from the drop down menu instead of just 'GCSE' when choosing the qualification, as there is with 'GCSE Double Award' and 'GCSE Applied.'

Thought so

We used a different system called EAS to apply. That had drop-down menus with all those as options. Wasn't sure if Apply was the same, but looks like they are pretty similar

Don't worry, I'm sure a couple of not so good grades in short courses won't matter, especially if they're irrelevant to the course you're applying for.
