I've just finished an essay on utilitarianism so I'll copy and paste some of the quotes I used, but I didn't use that many haha.
BENTHAM argued that “Mankind is governed by two sovereign masters; pleasure and pain” and believed that the greatest good for the greatest number of people should be the guiding force in ethics and morality.
The Hedonic Calculus consists of 7 elements or, to use Bentham’s word, circumstances <--- That's probably not important but I thought I'd add it.
Bentham AND Mill
Whilst Bentham argued that “all pleasures are equal” by stating that “Push-pin is the same as poetry”, Mill responded that “Benthamite utility is a philosophy for pigs” and believed that Bentham had not truly understood utilitarianism.
I'm pretty sure none of that is at all useful, but you never know haha.
Also I found this yesterday, might be of some help too I haven't properly looked at it yet though
