Nose Job- Price & Is it worth it?

My nose is really bothering me and has been for the last few years. It's a bit long and has a bump in the middle. The rest of my face is really pretty so that makes up for it but if my nose was different I would feel a lot better.

How much is the operation, where is the best place to get it done and any past experiences will be very useful. Does it hurt alot etc. and how long does it take to return to normal? I will be going to uni this year so I don't want it to be a very big problem in terms of time etc.

My dad is a consultant anaethetist and I help him as an assistant - he does a lot of nose jobs (rhinoplasty) so I know a bit about them. It costs around £4000 because you have to pay hospital fees, surgeon's fees and anaesthetist's fees.

There can be bruising and swelling from anywhere from 1 week to 1 month depending on how much you bruise. This includes black eyes. I think they take the splint off about 2 weeks after the operation. He says that the swelling will go down but you won't see the absolute final result until after about 1 year and if it doesn't look how you would like it to, then they don't recommend another operation until the year is up.

If you want to look for surgeons it's best to look for a BAAPS accredited one and always look at their portfolio of work before agreeing to the operation. http://www.baaps.org.uk/

I hope that helps!
Just make sure if you get it done that it doesnt look too "perfect" ie unnatural. Because thats even worse.

And they absolutely won't do the operation for you if you turn up to the consultation of a celebrity nose (or anything like that) because it will just be unrealistic for your face.

My best friend had a nose job and I was VERY sceptical about her going having plastic surgergy. But it's without doubt the best thing she's done, her confidence has improved ten fold and she looks more beautiful than before because of this.

I'm not sure of the exact price she paid but I think it was in the region of £3500. She had a consultation with the surgeon and 2 weeks later she had the op. Her swelling went down within a week (black eyes, bruising and tenderness around the nose area etc) I think she had her stiches taken out a week later. Obviously it's something that should be done to improve your own self confidence rather than for anyone else's benefit.

I can't really comment on the pain as i've not experienced it but I do remember my friend saying it was nothing and it was more uncomfortable than anything else. She had her nose packed and she said that was a little painful when they took it out but I nothing she couldn't cope with. Within 2 weeks of her having it done it was impossible to tell she'd had anything done!

I like you have a fairly big nose. But on top of this i also had it broken a few yeas ago playing ice hockey. I know its not the same but i can imagine it to be similar on the pain scale, just i got my nose job done for free lol. It really doesnt hurt that much at all just abit of bruising and swelling which quickly goes down. I however didnt get the benefits now i just have a big bent nose lol.
Beauty comes from within, not surgery

Its called being polite. If their is a bump on your nose they can see it. Or is it one of those mystical bumps that only your eyes can see. lol.
I have a bump on my nose (its huge) people have mentioned it in the past, I mean of course they have, if there's a huge bump on a person's nose, your bound to see it :p: I don't really like my nose, but in another way I'm quite fond of it. it makes me..well, me
