Hi all. I'm considering doing a distance learning access course to get on physiotherapy preferably at plymouth! I only have grade D at GCSE maths and science. Will I need to re do these or not with the access course?

Whilst you may not specifically need it to be accepted onto the course, I'd recommend resitting GCSE mathematics to try to get to a C grade, firstly because it'll show your commitment and secondly many employers ask for a minimum grade C at GCSE English and Mathematics.

That's great thanks for replying. What about science? I have seen that my local college do a gcse in human health and physiology which looks very relevant. The only problem is it will be a hell of allot of work to do 2 gcses plus an access course plus working full time. I think I may have to put off the access course until my gcses are better

Are you already in Plymouth? I would apply to do the access course - when I did my GCSE's, I did double award science and got DD. I have just done an access course and was given a conditional offer to do physio at Plymouth in September.

    Good luck
