Hi,

I'm currently completing some research for my AS English Literature exam, on Frankenstein, and I stumbled across this quote:

'The whole seed of Adam, not divided
But fearfully joined in the darkness of the double self'

in an article, which would be relevant and useful for my exam. However, the article does not reference where the quote is from, and after some googling I am unable to find its origin - I think it's from the bible, but I can't work out which version or verse.

Does anyone have any ideas as to where this quote is from?

Thanks

This quote is from a play by Dorothy Sawyers called 'The Just Vengeance', which was written in 1946. The full text of the play can be found here: https://archive.org/stream/foursacre...02mbp_djvu.txt
