Why you should stop watching porn.

1. It's abusive/degrading to women

2. Creating a demand for filmed prostitution. Whenever you watch it you're contributing to prostitution and no one wants to do that when they grow up.

3. Inspires men to rape women through subtle domination and humiliation

4. Unhealthy expectation placed on everyday women.

1. Women get paid several times more than men, who is being "degraded"

2. You can't tell other people what to do with their bodies, you can do whatever you want as long as you don't harm other people

3. Many would claim that porn actually reduces rape. The idea of "inspiring men to rape" I am guessing is something you just made up in your little head

4. Does it really though? I don't expect my life to be like porn, and many guys would probably feel like porn places an unhealthy expectation on them!!

Good try though  Have another go.
Proof or it didn't happen.

1. They choose to do it. No one forces them.

2. Why not? They can do whatever they want.

3. So male porn isn't a thing? Men aren't also treated as sex objects?

4. Doesn't just apply to women. Either way, I doubt people place that much emphasis on porn and make it a part of their lives :s-smilie:

1. They get paid more because the target audience is a man with his hands down his pants, writhing awkwardly on his chair with hawk eyes fixed on the monitor. Supply and demand. Their careers don't generally last either, the industry chews them up and then spits them out. I don't see me many elderly porn stars walking around, they don't make it alive on the other side or if they do they are drug addicts or suffering from abusive relationships.

2. It's not an embodiment of freedom of occupation or speech, it's the embodiment of Human exploitation, that is, trafficking and prostitution. Computers are the new brothels.

3. Are you saying men would rape if porn didn't exist? Rape genres exist in porn, they're the equivalent of watching child porn imo.

4. Yet those same men are the ones fueling the industry.

You amuse me. You seem to know every man so well

I have a new approach for women who clearly have an issue with the male gender... Tell me, who hurt you? Who made you feel this way about men?

How else are men who aren't in relationships meant to deal with their sexual desires ? It's tough thinking about sex all day you know ...
I disagree with 2 and 3.

Number 1 is a little sketchy... expand on that pls.

Agree with 4.

Also, watching frequent porn (dp, anal, facial abuse, gangbang, deepthroat etc) can reduce sensitivity, so it takes a lot more to get it up, which does affect your sex life e.g. you might need to see dp and deepthroat to be fully erect, but obviously that doesn't happen so frequently and easily in real life.

If you must watch porn, watch amateur.

yes that's right, nameless male pornstar #4 secretly runs the company who distributes and films said porn
Those are all valid points. Unfortunately, I happen to not give a ****.

It's clear from the way you write about porn you're just disgusted by the idea of men masturbating over it, I highly doubt your moral objection to the industry is why you want men to stop watching it.

1. It's abusive/degrading to women

1. Women enter the porn industry willingly
2. Women often get paid more than men
3. Men are also degraded in porn yet I don't see you mentioning this - sexist much?

2. Creating a demand for filmed prostitution. Whenever you watch it you're contributing to prostitution and no one wants to do that when they grow up.

The porn industry is far safer than anything to do with prostitution. Not going into this any further as the differences between the two are quite transparent.

3. Inspires men to rape women through subtle domination and humiliation

A rapist will rape if they wish. The porn industry is not going to be a deciding factor in whether a person carries out that action or not. Again, this is nothing more than trying to shift responsibility from the individual to an industry because the notion that people do things because they want to do it regardless of how sickening and evil those things are isn't comprehended by a lot of people. Stop shifting blame from a sickening individual to an industry. It's quite pathetic.

4. Unhealthy expectation placed on everyday women.

The point you're missing is the women and men who do this aren't every day people. A lot of them are nymphomaniacs who crave sex and are addicted to sex. A lot of them have strange fetishes that a lot of other people within society would find weird. Porn gives them a place to do that stuff with like minded people and to fulfil their desires to the maximum alongside others who won't judge them.

So you're against saving the environment?

Do you not want to help plant trees?

You'd be very surprised to find what the subconscious of a male (who frequents porn) wants... Or to be more specific, what his D wants.

When I'm talking about porn, I'm referring to the mainstream stuff which are pretty extreme e.g. dp, gangbang, bukkake, deepthroat, hair pulling, slapping etc.

I'm guessing you don't watch that stuff, hence your post.

I see it, I don't go hunting for it, and believe it or not when I have sex with my girlfriend I don't call in a couple lads so we can DP, gangbang, bukkake, pull her hair whilst hitting her and destroying her throat.

Despite all her protests
All I hear are claims with neither evidence nor proof. Yes, there are men who think of women and objects and there are men who rape - but these men existed before porn did (and women like this exist too, don't think of your gender as superior). Personally, I see all women just as human as me and I do not intend to rape anyone nor will I ever do. I think you should stop being a sexist bigot
Most "TED" talks are pretentious and lame, this one was pretty good though to be honest:
