What would an examiner do if it said reject or ignore?

I suppose reject means you are wrong and if its in your answer you risk losing any of the marks you may have gained following that point.

Ignore, I would say, means you aren't wrong but perhaps your answer isn't relevant to the question, so there's no risk of it invalidating your answer.

Just my guess!

Reject - take away marks. If you have a right answer and a rejectable one, you lose marks I think

Ignore - no rewardable content, but nothing bad. No marks lost.
