Anyone else doing the GCSE Edexcel: Geography A1 (Geographical Skills) exam on Tuesday? I couldn't find any threads about this.
Also, I'm new here so I have no idea what I'm doing haha.

I hate Unit 1 - the Maps Skills questions are so annoying and The Challenges for the Planet questions always want too specific answering.

Yeah, I've been told to go straight to the challenges to the planet section, and go to the Map Skills at the end.

I've decided to rely on video clips for revision for A2 and A3 (since I won't have time to revise using a revision guide and the video clips are more quick and easy). If you would like links to some of the clips feel free to ask.

I might do that also, I'm trying to learn as much as I can of Section B (Challenges for the Planet) so I can ace that incase I fail any of the Map Skills section. I'm expecting nothing more than C, maybe a lucky B and I'm relying on A2 and A3 and coursework to get a decent grade. Although I think I'm probably going to fail Unit 2 as well.
I think I'll do okay in Unit 3 as I just learnt A3 in Year 11 where as A1 and A2 I learnt in Year 10.

My coursework is at 40/50? My teacher never told me the grade that I got, but I'm guessing an A?
Also, I'm predicted an A - which is never going to happen LMAO.
Yeah, the videos would be so useful, thanks!

Yeah, the reason my teacher said go to section B first, is because so many people spend too long on the map skills section, and don't have enough time to complete section B.

Do you have anything on wasteful world? We're doing that instead of Watery World.

Also theres plenty of information about waste in HICs and LICs + recycling on Bitesize: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebit...ion_rev1.shtml
That's all I could find but hopefully they help.

I'm pretty much all set for section B now, I just need to go over a few things on the effects of climate change and I will HOPEFULLY have enough information to get through the exam tomorrow!
Good luck!

Same, I've watched loads of videos and also revised the whole section of the revision guide (only 4/5 pages) for Challenges for the Planet. Here's hoping that's enough to get a good grade and I remember it all!

Thank you and good luck to yourself too.

Let's hope the Maps section isn't too difficult either.

What did everyone put for the direction the photograph was taken from? The very first question... And the reason for it? I was clueless

What did you put for the distance it asked you for? I put 5.5 lol...
I used the word, 'approximately' like 20 times haha.

I put the south west because of the fields in the photograph and the white spaces in the map.

Section B was such a relief! But section A... I have lost so many marks haha.

Section A wasn't too bad, maybe my eyes were deceiving me but there seemed to be a lot less stuff on the OS Map, and the OS Map questions such as distance and locating the Information Point grid reference/finding the Camp Site on that grid reference were a lot more simple than I was expecting. That 6 marker was great also since it didn't involve any OS Map use thank god. I just waffled about using historical maps and records to detect changes and effects.

I put North east and because it was behind a settlement or something like that! LOL! I have done appalling on this paper.

When I saw today's paper I wanted to kiss it, Section B was like every dream question put together.
I think I got maybe a B, even an A grade!
I loved that easy 9 marker!

I put South West also.
My reason was because there was 'linear housing' like in the picture. I had no idea what else to write.

I have a feeling it was south west...
Maybe they'll be nice and give me the mark for explaining why I thought that.
