Are ideas in context b7 the right papers? I've looked at 2012. 2010, 2009 and they're nothing that I've been learning. Has anyone got any past papers, if so could you please give me links? Thanks.

No, they're not. That's the old specification papers: This what the papers look like now:

If you guys are looking for past papers with the specification we're using, there are only 2. ^^; One is a specimen paper that the exam boards give out to show how the paper will be set out:

Specimen Paper: http://www.ocr.org.uk/Images/80695-unit-a163-02-biology-modules-b7-higher-accredited.pdf
June 2013's Paper: Not released yet :frown:

HOWEVER. You can look at the examiner report of the questions: http://www.ocr.org.uk/Images/143163-examiners-reports-june.pdf
The examiner report pretty much tells you what all the questions are, so read it! (Go straight to page 18 if you're doing higher tier B7).

Ooh thanks so much! My text book didn't really explain it very well O.-
So it's pretty much just:
1) Genetic testing-Finding a faulty allele
2) The DNA is isolated from a white blood cell and nucleus
3) A gene probe is created and the DNA is broken down into smaller pieces
4) Gene probes act as markers as they stick to the wanted gene within the DNA
5) UV light can then be shined onto the DNA, and the marker will show because it is flourescent

Also, do you know what is the difference between the cardiac cycle and the double circulatory one?(The one with oxygenated, deoxygenated blood) And what type of question would they ask you for each one? Thankyou!

Isn't the cardiac cycle the paths that the blood takes in the heart and the double circulatory system is the paths that the blood takes away from the heart? They'd probably ask you to describe each one

It's not specifically in the book no, but you need to know it in the terms of the paths taken by the blood in the heart

Enters atria, goes to ventricle, left goes to aorta, right goes to pulmonary artery.

^ Yeah you need to know all about that, I didn't know it was called the cardiac cycle. XD

The cardiac cycle is this; taken from my revision guide:
1)Heart muscles relax and blood flows into the atria through veins from the lungs and the rest of the body
2) Atria contract, squeezing blood into the ventricles
3) Ventricles contract, forcing blood out of them and into the body and lungs
4) Heart muscles relax and the process repeats itself
Im hoping that tomorrows exam doesnt have too many maths questions :frown:

It shouldn't do, the only maths they would probably give you in B7 is BMI and perhaps analysing a graph. *Crosses fingers*.
Here's hoping this paper tomorrow is a good one, done the specimen and the June 2013 one and found them fine but whenever it's the real thing they always seem to be awkward questions!!
Screw you ecosystems
