Because we are sitting linear exams this year, will the grade boundaries be lower than what they were last year?

It's highly probable.
Although I doubt they would fall by too much if they did at all.

You can't say for certain. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a detrimental effect on the scores but on the other hand, it's entirely possible that any given exam is unusually easy which would shift the grade boundaries up. There may be a very, very slight trend of boundaries drooping a little, but I'd be very surprised if the average slip was anything more than a mark.
