Any Indians at Newcastle

Hi just wanted to find out if there are many indians studying at Newcastle Uni.
Also wanted to find out if Newcastle uni has variety of cultures and readily welcomes students from a different ethnic backgrounds. Thanks

Not many Indians there really though apparently theres a fair few in the med school but i aint met many in my first yr. The uni/city is generally accepting of different cultures i've not encountered any racism or anything. Theres an asian night once a month and theres a south asian society though in my opinion it is useless...needs someone like me incharged to make stuff happen lol!!

yes there are plently of asians at newcastle uni. There is definitely a lot more ethnic diversity down south, but as far as i saw in my first year, as the poster above pointed out, there aren't many problems with other cultures fitting in.

lol where will i find some asians i never seem to meet any... it doesnt particularly bother me but it would b kinda nice 2 have some asian aquaintances lol!

lol!! I'm gonna b in Sandyford whenevr my lease starts. I cannot wait to go back to Newcastle I am soooo fed up of home recently!!

We have a diverse range of people up here, but not as much as down south. But dont worry everyone up here is really friendly and will make you feel welcome
