Is there a difference between "quanta matter and change" and "Atkins physical chemistry"?

Looking at topics covered in the description of the books on various websites, they both seem to be similar e.g. they both cover thermodynamics and both by same author.

Is it really worth buying both or is there a lot of duplicated material?

Well ~Atkins physical chemistry~ is twice as big and so its definitely not a duplicate... other than that the same topics are covered clearly so my best instinct is that Atkins physical chemistry is more detailed and maybe has more problems as such. Also the publication date of atkins phy chem is 2 years younger but its edition 8 at the latest, however, the second book just came out out of the blue from 2008 so its probably less developed and maybe even has quite a lot of mistakes or bad method of providing the fundamental understanding to the reader.
