mature types

well i have a problem. its about boyfriends. im not desparate for a BF i dont even feel the need to have one, im happy with my life, i have brilliant friends and school is fine.
but my problem is that if i want a BF or fancy someone, i have trouble getting them. the lads my age (16 going on into 6th form), well they think im immature and not GF material. my friends dont think im immature but that im bubbly outgoing and i like to have fun.which lads might see as immaturity. but im not going to change who i am for a lad. im happy with who i am.

the lads my age well even though they think im immature and not their type, they dont really do it for me..i personally think the ones ive met are a bit boring...well im not saying all 16yr old lads are boring but what they talk about and do is either boring or immature.

after past experiences perhaps rather embarasing... with males and fancying innapropriate people, ive come to find what i like in a male.- a mature person who you can have in depth conversations with and likes who i am without saying im immature. thats males older than me. say 19/20 yr old males maybe a little older.

but they dont go for me cos i look really young. i may be 16 but i look 13/14

so if the opportunity arises and i find someone who is my type, how do i go about it?

sorry if its a load of rubbish...

I wouldn't worry about looking younger or immaturity or anything like that. In my experience that is rarely a consideration for a lot of guys, looking younger isn't really going to hurt your chances either.

I know that doesn't answer your question but maybe if you stopped worrying so much about stuff like that you'd have more luck.

I would have thought that if you were bubbly and outgoing that it is better than being introverted and mature acting?
I'm the introvert and I can say acting mature has done me no favours in the boyfriend department!
Stay as you are and I'm sure that you will find a nice lad that you like and he will appreciate you and your personality.

It ordipends really, there is a difference between bubbly and outgoing and just plain loud and obnoxious lol But im sure youn are the first which i personally dont find annoying at all, but the secound i find very annoying, and would get sick of a person like that very quick. I personally like a bit of a mixture, a girl who soemtimes is outgoing bubbly and wanting to ahve fun but at other times just a girl to sit in a bar, restaurant (Might be a bit young for that at the moment) and have a decent chat. But from what you have said there is nothign wrong with your 'type' at all.

they say girls mature much quicker than guys do, hence why many girls prefer to go out with older guys (many girls - not all, don't shoot me just yet) so yeah..

i wouldn't worry, theres nothing wrong with you.

This just reminded me of a Harry Hill joke, "Bubbly, another word for annoying".
But anyway you shouldn't change yourself just because of what other people say about you. I'm pretty sure many 16 year olds are immature, just take it as it comes.

Nah im sure a lot of lads dont find your type annoying at all, just the ones you have met do, so i really wouldnt worry about it. But then i am 18 so mayby it was different when i was 16, i really cant remember to be honest lol
I think the lads you hang around with are very unfortunate! It depends on guy to guy, generally I would agree that most 19/20 year olds are obviously more mature than your average 16 year old but there are exceptions. I went out with this guy who was older than me and was a total immature prat, and right now I've been dating a guy 18 months younger than me for nearly a year now and he is more immature than most of the guys in my year who were 18 and definitely more mature than my friends boyfriend who's turning 20 this year!
There are really nice mature younger boys out there and really prickish immature 20 year olds out there so I think it depends more on the man and not the age. You'll find someone eventually but don't just restrict to the older man-market because honestly it varies!
