Hey!
I'm freaking out! Still trying to work out the most effective way to revise :/
Atm, i'm just going through the Heywood book, making notes, remaking them and then trying to apply the info to past questions.

How is going for you?
Do you have any advice? Much needed!
Good luck! x

My teacher said you can do it, but it's just risky because in unit 4 they could ask a 45 marker that asks you to tie an ideology in with socialism.

ahh! im not doing unit 4 ideologies, I'm doing unit 4 global politics. I might just learn the marxism side to socialism incase it gets tied in with an anarchist question or something.. are you doing all of the topics?

Oh okay then I think you would be fine learning just 3 ! I'm learning all of them because they can all tie into unit 4. Yeh definitely make sure you have the basics down for socialism though even if you are not going to learn the whole thing.

Agreed. Apparently Liberalism can be left out though, as it's likely there wont be a 45 on it.

is this for paper 3D? I'm just doing lib/conservative/socialism/anarchism side of the course.

Is it really that risky for me to miss out socialism? none of the past qs for the course have ever linked two ideologies together

I'm doing Anarchism, Liberalism and Conservatism and leaving socialism out since it's the longest one. Im more worried about the paper on the 13th since ill only have about 3/4 days to do 3 ideologies....

Hi, I am currently revising for the Edexcel Unit 3 Introducing Political Ideologies exam and I am freaking out!!

I don't think I can take the risk in not revising an ideology because one ideology will come up twice in the 15 markers and then not in the 45 and if its my favourite ideology I am worried about the "I cant answer that question" feeling.

The way I have approached it is through learning core notes from Heywood and Hodder Revision book, and then did all past questions available to then learn the key paragraphs and points that could come up again. However im scared that this is not that productive and may not help me in the exam because the same question never comes up twice!!

What do you all think? I hope its not just me who is having a mini heart attack!

In the examination, I think Liberalism will have two fifteen markers which means that the 45 markers will consist of: Anarchism, Conservatism and Socialism.

I'm only revising three topics ( Liberalism, Socialism and Conservatism). If you're running out of time, it is better to know three in detail than just having a small understanding of four.

Don't worry, you have the dates right.

I'm only revising those 3 as well - I don't like anarchism at all. I can't see how it will cause a problem because I'm happy to answer long questions on Liberalism, Socialism and Conservatism so I can't really be caught out in any way. The only minor issue would be if there was 2 Anarchism 15 markers, but that still wouldn't be a problem because I could do the other 3 questions.
